What are the Travellers' Choice Awards?
As the blog published by Melia explains, the Travellers' Choice Awards recognise companies that consistently receive excellent opinions or positive comments from travellers all over the world. It is the only award in the tourism industry that takes into account guests' ratings of service quality and their satisfaction.
In order to qualify for the prestigious awards, a hotel must keep an overall TripAdvisor score of at least four out of five bubbles, receive a certain number of reviews in the 12-month period in which the data is analysed, and lastly, the hotel must be featured on the portal for at least one year.
Bearing this in mind, it's a huge honour for the Melia Cayo Coco to pick up the "Best of the Best" award as it demonstrates the continued excellence the resort and its staff have shown throughout what has been a difficult period in international tourism.
